Global Health Day

 

We are excited to invite you to the 7th annual Global Health Day!

 

Our guest speaker, Dr. Mark Bisanzo, co-founder of the Global Emergency Care Collaborative, an NGO that has been advancing emergency care and education in Uganda, will be discussing his perspective on how to sustainably develop emergency care in the developing world.

Grand Rounds:
Conference will then move to Harkness Auditorium for Grand Rounds. Our Grand Rounds speaker is Dr. Emily Johnston, MD, an Emergency Physician, professional mountain guide, ski patroller, and whitewater guide. Please join us for a great afternoon of lectures on both adaptation to hypoxia, as well as learn more about Dr. Johnston’s experiences with the evacuation of Mt. Everest after the earthquake last year.

Surgeon General Vivek, MD, MBA (Yale Med ’03) will be giving Grand Rounds for the Yale Department of Radiology on Thursday, September 17 at 12:15pm in Harkness! Yale is always very excited to host one of its alumnus, but this is doubly true when he is also the Surgeon General and speaking on the matter of, “The Role of Physicians and Care Providers in Advancing the Nation’s Public Health.”
 
We hope many of you will be able to attend and learn from Dr. Murthy.

We are excited to invite you to our 6th annual Global Health Day starting at 9am on Wednesday, June 17, in Harkness Auditorium!
 
Our guest speaker, Regan Marsh, MD MPH, will be discussing the coordination of the Ebola response in West Africa and our J&J scholars and Global Health fellow will share their experiences from abroad.
 
We are also thrilled to welcome back two of our recent graduates, Brian Rice and Mary O, who will be talking about their post-Yale Global Health life.

Emergency Medicine Lectures will take place at Yale on Wednesday, May 6th starting in the SIM Center (please use outside entrance at 728 Howard Avenue due to construction) beginning at 9:00am. At 11:00am conference will be moved to Harkness Auditorium.
 
Lunch will be served before Grand Rounds, so there will be no breakfast.
